:: 2016 Young Judges Champions are getting ready for Melbourne
 


 

It was great to have some of our Young Judges present at the Sa COuntry Shows Symposium and Young Rural Ambassador Dinner in July. These Young Judges received their unforms from Marino Uniforms, that they will be wearing when they compete at the National Young Judges Championships in September. 

Caitlin Heppner, Merino Fleece Young Judge, Tahlia Lockwood; Meat Sheep Young Judge and Tegan Afford; Dairy Cattle Handler were present at the Dinner. Sponsors Lyn Bissi, Milton King and Simon Bowering were in attendance representing Marino Uniforms.

As you are aware, baking as we know it, is evolving due to many influences, such as product changes, online recipies, and television shows to name a few.  Should competitive baking reflect this?  The RAS is conducting the workshop to further develop the framework for judging items within the show cookery schedule.

:: Young South Australians dominate in rural awards

South Australia has dominated in the Australasian Young Judges Competitions held last week in Queensland.

The competitions – run by the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies – involved entrants from all Australian States and New Zealand.

:: National Rural Ambassador Award Winner Announced

Regional South Australian Courtney Ramsey has been named Australasian Rural Ambassador for 2014.

Courtney was named South Australia’s Rural Ambassador for 2013 in September last year after being nominated by the organisers of the Kimba Show, and the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies announced the national award at the Brisbane Royal Show last night.
